These watches were not originally part of the ACME Studio’s original Beatles Collection. But when Apple saw the level of ACME’s designs for the Beatles pens, they then offered ACME to also do watches. At last minute ACME called in watch designer Fredi Brodmann to design two watches to go with the 2nd release Beatles items.
The design is based on The Beatles famous “Abbey Road” album cover. As the watch hands move, each Beatle moves around the sidewalk.
The approximate measurements for the men's watch are bezel is 4 cm,25.5cm length
numbered edition out of 1000 pieces
The watch has manual wind movement and is made of polished stainless steel. It is also water resistant. The white (black on the men's edition) silicon strap features a laser engraved icon of all four Beatles near the buckle. The reason ACME had to use a silicone strap instead of leather, and use a hand wind movement instead of a battery operated quartz movement, was from a request made by Sir Paul McCartney. He had requested that ACME not use leather due to his vegetarianism, and to go along with that request, ACME countered with the suggestion of also using a hand-wind mechanism to make this an all “green” watch. It was all quickly agreed and the watches were produced.
