As foresters in Indonesia log off mature teak trees, they leave behind stumps and roots that would typically be burned out of the soil. Enterprising village artisans realized that the wood in these stumps had the same treasured qualities of teak, but with irregularities that seemed to express the living spirit of the wood. To create each Obi sculpture, artisans salvage and handcarve these stumps to expose their inner character. Let this monolithic statue live in your home as a reminder that inner beauty is something to be treasured. Made in Indonesia. Weighs about 110 pounds.
